Allylestrenol - Strengthen Pregnancy

Clinical studies have been shown that allylestrenol has a potency to increases placental hormone secretion (human chorionic gonadotropin, human placental lactogen, estrogen and progesterone), Accordingly, adminstrations of allylestrenol may maintain placental trophoblastic layer and eliminate threatened abortion at early stage of pregnancy or threatened premature labor. Allylestrenol prevents deterioration of the uteroplacental circulation.
Indications:
Allylestrenol is indicated for threatened abortion, habitual abortion, and threatened premature labor.
Warning and Precautions
  • Monitoring patients with diabetes during theraphy
  • Discontinue therapy if the following occurs : visual disturbances, proptosis or diplopia, vascular retinal ulcer and migraine.
  • Patients with missed or incomplete abortions. In the presence of undiagnosed vaginal bleeding. Patients with untreated neoplasms of the breast should not use Allylestenol.
Side Effects
Nausea, vomiting. other side effects: Acne, oedema, mass gain, gynaecomastia, headache, depression, urticaria, pruritis vulvae, candidiasis, cramps, changes in libido, vaginal secretion, altered menstrual patterns with unpredictable bleeding. c17-alpha alkylated steroids have been associated with liver dysfunction.
